Personal and Group Experiences
Private Party appearances for a special time. What to do with a winter birthday? Invite Northern Exposure! Spend time with sled dogs, meet them, and learn about mushing. Then you and your guests will enjoy a ride trailing on a sled pulled by the Northern Exposure racing team.
Puppy Parties are available all year round by appointment. Have Northern Exposure bring our kennel's youngest tenants to your party. We will read a story and answer questions. It is just a whole lot of fun.
Adventure In The Woods, an adult public speaking event, is suitable for a group discussion or a personal experience. This one hour program discusses the changes that must be made to begin a life of dog sledding. Details on how to and why to get started in this fulfilling hobby. The program includes photo sessions and a hands-on demonstration.
School Visits
All programs can be customized to your specifications, age group, and lesson material. Design an adventure to fit what you want your students to get from this experience.
Preschool/Kindergarden: "Meet a Musher & Furry Friend" This one hour program emphasizes teamwork through a discussion on dog sledding. The program also contains an opportunity to interact with some of the equipment.

First to Third Grade: "You Can Do Anything" A 1 1/2 hour program filled with discussions involving dog safety measures and the teamwork attitude necessary for successful mushing. Hands on interaction available followed by an extensive question and answer session and a real live dog sled kid pull!

Fourth to Eighth Grade: "Mushing: The Sport" Continued discussion into some of the more advanced topics of mushing. Get up close to the dogs and learn about care and treatment.
Ninth to Twelfth Grade: "Mushing: A Growing Sport" Large group discussions focusing on equipment and saftey training, as well as nutrition for the sled dogs. Meet an Alaskan Husky and take part in team sled and trail and race experiences. A 1 1/2 hour experience.
